We did fall a bit behind in New Zealand, but only toward the end. Today, I realized why we did better in NZ. Although Internet access has been generally more available (and way faster) for us in Japan vs. NZ, there are two critical factors:
1. Our Internet in Japan is wired. Therefore, we can't blog while sitting in bed, or other various places in the room. We're tied to the desk. Lazy, but true. And, we can't be on two devices at once...the iPad is useless as a wireless device.
2. We covered a lot of miles by car in New Zealand. We never had to drive an excessive distance in a single day, but we did spend plenty of half-days in the car. And while I did some of the driving (see here), Kee-Min definitely drove more. While he was behind the wheel, my view from the passenger's seat often looked like this:
In Japan, thanks to superfast trains, our longest single trip has only been about 2 hours...
But, my super-optimistic plan is to get up early tomorrow to write another post before packing up. We have to check out of the hotel in the morning, but our flight isn't until about midnight. On tap for the day: Fish market, Technology & Innovation museum, possibly the Toyota museum, fresh-made waffles (consolation for tonight's failure to obtain moffles), and a last delicious meal (or two!) in Tokyo.
